Heatwaves are among the fastest-growing climate risks in Europe, with increasing impacts on health, ecosystems, key infrastructure and community systems. As part of the CLIMAAX Project, this webinar is the first in the new hazard- and workflow-focused series CLIMAAX Community of Practice, where regions present their experiences and learnings from applying and adapting the CLIMAAX Climate Risk Assessment (CRA) Framework and Toolbox.

The session explored how regional teams are using the Heatwave Workflow to analyse and interpret risks, support adaptation planning, and strengthen climate resilience – while providing space for mutual learning between regions and Toolbox developers.

Participants learned from the applications in two CLIMAAX regions, the Comunidade Intermunicipal das Beiras e Serra da Estrela (Portugal) and Antalya Metropolitan Municipality (Türkiye), as they shared their experiences in using and adapting the Toolbox within their regional CRA processes.

This session is particularly relevant for regional and local practitioners, researchers, and policymakers interested in advancing their CRA practice, understanding how to work with the Toolbox, and learning from applied experiences across Europe.
