The Twenty-seventh International BIOECON Conference, titled “Integrating Biodiversity Conservation and Climate Change Solutions”, will take place at St John’s College, Cambridge, from 7 to 8 September 2026.
The CMCC Foundation participates as an institutional partner of the conference.
BIOECON XXVII will bring together leading researchers and policymakers to address key challenges at the interface of economic development, biodiversity conservation, and population pressures. The conference will feature keynote lectures by Professor Jennifer Alix-Garcia (Oregon State University) and Professor Robin Burgess (London School of Economics).
In addition to the main theme, the programme will include parallel sessions covering a wide range of topics in biodiversity economics, including: the role of biodiversity and ecosystem services in economic development; plant genetic resources and food security; deforestation and development; fisheries; institutional frameworks and policy instruments such as Payments for Ecosystem Services; biodiversity finance; conservation and development; wildlife protection and endangered species; international trade and regulation; and climate change.
