The CMCC Foundation successfully facilitated a wildfire-themed Peer Review in Land Brandenburg, conducted under the framework of the Union Civil Protection Mechanism (UCPM). The peer review process brought together experts from across Europe to assess disaster risk management structures, capacities, and strategies currently in place in the region.
The review culminated in the drafting of a comprehensive Peer Review Report, which was officially handed over to the Brandenburg authorities during a formal event. The report outlines key findings, good practices, and actionable recommendations aimed at strengthening Brandenburg’s resilience to wildfire risks, particularly in the face of increasing threats driven by climate change.
This collaborative initiative is a significant step toward enhancing cross-border knowledge exchange and supporting Member States in aligning with EU disaster risk management priorities and the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction.
