Elisa Fiorini Beckhauser, researcher at Fondazione CMCC, will take part in an international panel discussion focused on the role of the rule of law in promoting more inclusive and people-centred approaches to land governance. She will briefly present CMCC’s project on Sea Legal Rise and legal empowerment of coastal communities.
During the conference, the panel will explore how legal and institutional frameworks can strengthen tenure security, empower local communities, and address exclusion and discrimination in access to and management of land resources. The discussion will draw on the insights presented in IDLO’s 2025 issue brief People-Centred Land Governance for Peace, Security and Stability: Exploring Rule of Law Solutions.
The session will also reflect on the ways in which land governance can contribute to the protection of fundamental human rights, while fostering inclusive growth, social stability, and long-term peace.
