On July, 10th, CMCC Foundation and the Wageningen Environmental Research (WR) are organising a dissemination webinar entitled “The Impact of Climate Change on People” to demonstrate the different services that the SDGs-EYES project has developed to support understanding and awareness around the social impacts of climate change.
The event will focus on two key services developed to provide accessible, user-relevant information on how extreme heat and other climate -related events are increasingly affecting people and infrastructure across different regions: Service No. 2 – Heat-Health Nexus Risk, and Service No. 3 – Affected Buildings and People (SDG13).
Throughout the webinar, participants will be introduced to the rationale behind these services, their main features, and how they were designed to respond to specific user needs. In particular, a session will be dedicated to showcasing the co-design methodology applied in the development process. This participatory approach, which brought together a range of stakeholders including local authorities, technical experts, and civil society actors, played a central role in shaping the final outputs.
The event will also offer space for reflection on the broader relevance of such tools in the context of sustainable development, with reference to selected Sustainable Development Goals. In doing so, the webinar aims to foster dialogue on how climate-related data and services can be made more usable, relevant, and inclusive—supporting decision-making processes that take into account both environmental and social dimensions.
