Sebastián Echeverría is part of the Division on Impacts on Agriculture, Forests and Ecosystem Services (IAFES), in Viterbo. He worked as an Agronomist for different agri-business companies (COAGRA, ADM, Nestlé) in Chile, specializing in trading, responsible sourcing and procurement. He did his Master in Mountain Forestry in BOKU (Vienna, Austria) and his PhD in Environment in IRTA/Universitat de Girona (Catalonia, Spain). His research interests are related to the holistic assessment of the effects of agricultural and forestry practices on the provision of ecosystem services. The scope of his research is set particularly on the characterization of synergies and trade-offs between climate change mitigation, biodiversity, and provision. This focus on overall ecosystem multifunctionality is driven by his objective of contributing to the knowledge regarding more sustainable ecosystem management strategies.
