Francesco Gemma holds a Bachelor’s degree (July 2023) and a Master’s degree (December 2025, 110/110) in Computer Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. His academic research culminated in a thesis on “Incremental Change Detection in Sentinel-1 SAR image streams – monitoring the construction of ‘The Line’ in NEOM, Saudi Arabia”.
He joined PoliSpace as a Software Engineer in the On-Board Data Handling and Flight Software division for the 6S-CubeSat project, a mission that aims to launch into orbit the first satellite built entirely by students of the Politecnico di Milano.
As of April 2026, Francesco serves as a Network and Security Administrator at the CMCC’s High Performance Computing Center (HPCC).
