Manfredo Alessio Manfreda is Division Manager at the SOWAS Division of the CMCC Foundation, where he oversees the planning and implementation of research projects, manages administrative and financial operations, and supports fundraising and strategic development.
He brings over ten years of experience in project management and public procurement, with a strong track record in the design, coordination, and reporting of complex, multi-partner initiatives funded by European and national institutions. His expertise spans technical proposal development, budget planning and monitoring, KPI analysis, and the coordination of cross-functional teams in international consortia.
Before joining CMCC, he gained extensive experience in EU project management, supporting the coordination of multi-beneficiary initiatives and the implementation of international partnerships across research and policy- oriented institutions. He later served at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Government, where he supported the State Secretary for European Affairs in high-level institutional coordination, policy development, and strategic decision-making on EU-related matters. In parallel, he was involved in the organization of major diplomatic events during Italy’s G20 Presidency. He also collaborated with the Embassy of Canada in Rome and with consulting firms active in institutional relations, strategic advisory, and the design of publicly funded initiatives.
Alessio completed his academic studies in International Relations at the University of Bologna and in European Studies at the LUISS School of Government.
