Soraya is a urban planner with a multidisciplinary background, holding a BSc in Political Science and International Reletionship (major in human rights and migration science) from the University of Padua and a MSc in Urban Planning (major environmental and urban planning)from IUAV University of Venice.
She joined CMCC’s Risk Assessment and Adaptation Strategies division after attended the second level master degree in Science and Management of Climate Change from Cà Foscari University of Venice, in June 2023.
She is currently contributing to several EU-funded projects such as InBestSoil, BIOservicES, PEERS, REACHOUT and Invest4Nature. Her work and research interests focus on policy and economic analysis at European and national levels for sustainable land and natural resource management, the development of NbS in the context of risk mitigation and disaster reduction, and the promotion of user-oriented climate services to support cities in improving resilience.
Before joining CMCC, Soraya worked as a scientific consultant for the Fondazione Prada art exibition “Everybody talks about the weather”.
