The 13th World Congress of the European Water Resources Association (EWRA 2025) on Water Resources and Environment titled “New challenges in understanding and managing water-related risks in a changing environment” will be held in Palermo, Italy, from June 24 to 28, 2025. CMCC researcher Gomez Luz will participate in the EWRA 2025 to present recent research on adapting urban drainage systems to climate change.

The EWRA 2025 Congress promotes international cooperation and research exchanges in the field of environmentally sustainable water resources management. The aim is to discuss innovation in water sciences to address current and future challenges and enhance the capacity of countries to mitigate and adapt to climate change and new water-related hazards.

The Congress intends to be a global forum for scientists and engineers from diverse countries and cultures, who will interact, exploring ways and strategies to face global and regional challenges on water resources and ecosystems.

A wide range of cutting-edge topics will be presented and discussed, encompassing the most crucial aspects of Water Resources Management and Environment on a global scale. Key principles behind these topics are sustainability, resilience, hydraulic and hydrological invariance, and the non-stationarity of hydro-meteorological variables and processes in a climate change context.
