CMCC Webinar | 28 October 2020, h. 10:00 AM CET
Speaker: Anne Fouilloux, Senior Engineer, Department of Geosciences, University of Oslo
Moderator: Antonio Navarra, President CMCC Foundation
In this talk, we will present our journey towards building an e-infrastructure for Earth System Modeling for the Nordic countries. Through this example, we will try to put emphasis on the rationale behind the various choices that can be made for building this ecosystem and the lessons learned along the way. Our objective is that others can make the connections with their own use cases, then engage and eventually benefit from our experience.
Speaker’s short bio
Anne Fouilloux has a PhD in Atmospheric Sciences and is an experienced Research Software Engineer. She is now the project manager of the second phase of the Nordic Collaboration on e-Infrastructures for Earth System Modelling (NICEST2 – https://neic.no/nicest2/ ) that focuses on strengthening the Nordic position within climate modelling by leveraging, reinforcing and complementing ongoing national, European and international initiatives. She is also developing training materials and teaching basic-to-advanced research computing skills to students, researchers, Research Software Engineers from all disciplines to advance FAIRness of Software management and development practices so that research groups can collaboratively develop, review, discuss, test, share and reuse their codes.
