The Italian Alpine Club section of Naples regularly organizes cultural events for members and supporters. In this context, the CMCC has been invited to give a talk on the subject . In the following a brief summary of the contents is reported:
“Over the last hundred years, the global and regional climate has undergone dramatic changes. The Alpine arc in particular feels the effects of climate change taking place in Europe, that are visible in the progressive melting of glaciers and permafrost. Currently, the scientific community is making a considerable effort to predict, using sophisticated numerical models, possible scenarios of climate change that will occur in the XXI century, both globally and locally. In the course of this presentation we will provide an overview of the climatological models currently available and analyze possible scenarios of climate change that will affect the Alps, developed by various Italian and international research centers.”
