The international workshop (February 8-10, 2012) takes place in Venice within the Memorandum of Agreements “Operational Oceanography and Climate Change in shelf and coastal seas” signed by the National Marine Environment Forecasting Center, State Oceanic Administration of China (NMEFC-SOA), the Italian Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia (INGV), Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e di Geofisica Sperimentale (OGS) and Centro euro-Mediterraneo per i Cambiamenti Climatici (CMCC).
Chinese and italian experts will discuss four major topics:
- Assessment of current variability and trends;
- Operational oceanography in the Adriatic and South-Eastern China Seas;
- Regional climate change projections;
- Impacts on the coastal systems
