TRANSCEND Workshop
6-7 May 2025 | San Servolo Island, Venice
More information

The 1st International Stakeholder Workshop of the TRANSCEND project will take place in Venice on 6–7 May 2025 and will be co-organised with the Talanoa-Water project. The event will be conceived as a key moment of cross-fertilisation, bringing together for the first time stakeholders from all TRANSCEND Living Labs, alongside representatives from the Talanoa-Water community.
The workshop will bring together members of the TRANSCEND consortium and a broad range of stakeholders from each Living Lab, including policy makers, regulators, and representatives of social and civil society organisations. This strong and diverse participation will enable a constructive and inclusive dialogue aimed at collectively discussing and shaping potential adaptation policies for the seven river basins addressed by the project.
Through participatory methods such as serious games and World Café sessions, participants will engage in a co-creation process that fosters mutual learning, strengthens collaboration, and identifies innovative adaptation pathways. The resulting policies will align with regional water management and broader international climate goals. After the workshop, these policies will be tested through each Living Lab’s modelling suite and refined with input from local stakeholders during the next round of workshops, helping to address knowledge gaps, shared challenges, and high-impact adaptation options while supporting transparent, evidence-based decision-making.
Within the project, the CMCC Foundation coordinates the knowledge networks that allow stakeholders to contribute to co-creation and guides engagement and science–policy interactions, promoting knowledge exchange, consensus building, and the adoption of Transformational Adaptation Policies at local, regional, and international levels.
