Paola Agostini holds a PhD in Analysis and Governance of Sustainable Development from the University of Venice Ca’ Foscari (2006) and previously graduated in Biological Sciences at the University of Rome La Sapienza (2000). She started her research experience at the Venice Research Consortium and the US Environmental Protection Agency working on the development and application of Decision Support Systems for the management of contaminated sites. She was lecturer at the University of Venice Ca’ Foscari on the same topics. Between 2010 and 2013, she was Scientific Project Officer at the European Commission, Directorate General for Research and Innovation, in Bruxelles, supervising projects related to climate change and natural hazards.
She has more than 10 scientific co-authored publications in peer-reviewed journals, books and conference proceedings.
Since November 2013, she works at CMCC, OPA Division/OceanLab, mainly in activities concerned with the involvement of end-users for the test and application of operational oceanographic tools, as well as with general dissemination and promotion of the Division products and services.
