Asrat earned a master’s degree in Water and Coastal Management from the University of Bologna (Italy), the University of Cadiz (Spain), and the University of Algarve (Portugal). He also holds a master’s degree in Development Studies (Environment and Development) from Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia) and a bachelor’s degree in Natural Resource Management from Jimma University (Ethiopia). His research interests include the assessment and analysis of climate change hazards, impacts, risks, extreme events, and climate change adaptation.
