Johanna is a PhD student at Politecnico di Milano with a bachelor’s and master’s in civil engineering from Virginia Tech. Her research, conducted in collaboration with CMCC, focuses on translating hydroclimatic uncertainty into financial risk for large water infrastructure contracts, with the Zambezi hydropower system as a case study. She is particularly interested in how water bankruptcy can inform long-term planning and climate adaptation.
