Irene Cassinelli is a Junior Associate Scientist at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC), where she supports research activities in the fields of disaster risk management and climate change adaptation.
Previously, she completed an internship with the Risk Assessment and Adaptation Strategies (RAAS) division of CMCC, as well as an Erasmus+ traineeship at the Wildlife Ecopathology Service (SEFaS) of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She holds a MSc in Sciences and Management of Nature – Global Change Ecology and Sustainable Development Goals from the University of Bologna, where she graduated with a thesis on the role of Key Biodiversity Areas (KBAs) in mapping ecological connectivity. She also holds a BSc in Production and Management of Domestic and Wild Animals – Wildlife Management from the University of Turin. With a strong interdisciplinary approach, her interests combine climate change adaptation and mitigation, sustainable development, environmental management, and biodiversity conservation.
