Pierluigi Cosi earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Salento, where he worked on a thesis focused on designing and developing both the hardware and software for a smart home system.
Afterwards, he continued his studies with a Master Degree in Computer Engineering at the same university. As part of his final academic project, he collaborated with the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC) on a thesis titled “Development of a Graph Neural Network for Ocean Modeling in the Mediterranean Basin”.
Since September 2024, Pierluigi has been a Junior Research Associate, within the Advanced Scientific Computing (ASC) division of CMCC. In January 2025 he joined the Advanced Digital Innovation Center (ADIC), where he is involved in the development of a foundation model for the ocean based on Graph Neural Networks, as well as other research in the field of climate change through machine learning-based approaches.
