Maria Katherina Dal Barco is a PhD candidate in “Science and Management of Climate Change” at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Her PhD research is meant to develop Machine Learning methods for multi-risk assessment in coastal areas, with a focus on the coastal area of the Veneto region, in the frame of the Interreg Italy-Croatia AdriaClim and H2020 MYRIAD_EU projects.

She graduated in “Environmental Science – Global Environmental Change” at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Her MSc thesis focused on the development and implementation of a Bayesian Network approach for multi-scenario analysis supporting coastal erosion risk management in the Apulian shoreline carried out within the Interreg Greece-Italy TRITON project. During her MSc Degree Programme Maria Katherina held a training internship at the Fondazione Centro Euro-Mediterraneo sui Cambiamenti Climatici (CMCC – RAAS Division), where she gained expertise in climate change and coastal erosion risk assessment and management within CORILA Venezia2021, SAVEMEDCOASTS-2, DG CLIMA and Interreg Greece-Italy TRITON projects.

Since March 2020 she has been part of RAAS (Risk Assessment and Adaptation Strategies) Division at CMCC, initially as Affiliated Researcher and now as Collaborator within MYRIAD_EU project.
