He Ming Xiao
A person earned a Ph.D. under the supervision of Prof. Min-Hui Lo at National Taiwan University, gaining solid training in both modeling tools and atmospheric dynamics. His expertise in climate modeling includes conducting experiments with regional model (WRF) and variable-resolution model (MPAS). His experience also extends to Earth system modeling, including modifying the Community Land Model (CLM) code and conducting high-resolution regional CLM simulations. Additional work involves implementing sea surface temperature nudging in the POP ocean model within CESM1.
His background in atmospheric dynamics covers tropical climate variability, such as examining interactions between ENSO and the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD), as well as midlatitude dynamics, including diagnosing barotropic Rossby waves induced by tropical deforestation and the associated teleconnections. He is also well versed in land–atmosphere interactions.
