Alessandro Sebastianelli received his Master’s degree (cum laude) in Electronic Engineering from the University of Sannio in 10/2019, where he also obtained his Ph.D. in Information Technologies for Engineering in 10/2022. His expertise spans artificial intelligence and quantum computing (QC) applied to Earth Observation (EO). He co-authored a book and around 50 publications in reputed journals and international conferences, achieving an H-index of 16 and more than 800 citations, also receiving several awards for his research activities. He worked as an EO Engineer at Titan4 until 11/2019 and later at the European Space Agency for a total of six years, until 09/2025. During this period, he was responsible for research and industrial activities on QC for EO. He currently leads the QC4EO working group within QUEST of the IEEE GRSS and serves as a Topical Associate Editor for IEEE TGRS journal. In 09/2025, he joined CMCC as a Junior Scientist in the REMHI Division, PRESTO Unit.
