Timothy is a researcher at the CMCC (RAAS division). He holds a PhD in coastal flood risk and Nature-based Solutions from the Institute for Environmental Research at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. During his postdoctoral research in the same institute, he was a project manager for the MYRIAD-EU project and specialises in multi-hazard risk management and social vulnerability, with a focus on artificial intelligence applications in disaster risk assessment. At CMCC, he conducts research as a multi-hazard risk specialist with a focus on multi-hazard early warning systems and developing strategies to enhance disaster risk management and resilience in the face of complex challenges posed by multi-hazard events. He integrates quantitative risk assessment with stakeholder engagement strategies and policy-relevant risk communication.
