Research Unit Leader

Guido Rianna

Description

The Unit has the main goal to investigate how the variations in Extreme Weather Events potentially induced by Climate Changes may impact natural and urban environments. In this perspective, the analysis primarily focus on the assessment of the variations in occurrence and magnitude of geo-hydrological (floods, drought and landslide) hazards and impacts on the population (heat waves, health). Due to its peculiarities, the Unit is deeply engaged in involvement of stakeholders and policy makers (Municipalities, Regional authorities, Regional environmental agencies) by fostering participatory processes. Furthermore, it relies on the collaboration of national and international universities.
