In 2018, the CMCC Foundation strengthens its role in the arena of environmental and resource economics with the new task of managing the Secretariat of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE).
EAERE is an international scientific Association with over 1200 members in 80 countries, founded in 1990 to contribute to the development and application of these disciplines in Europe.
CMCC will host the EAERE Secretariat in 2018 and 2019, the same period in which the EAERE Presidency is held by Prof. Carlo Carraro, Strategic Council Member of the CMCC Foundation. The EAERE Secretariat is now based at CMCC’s new office in Venice (Edificio Porta dell’Innovazione – Piano 2 – Via della Libertà, 12 – 30175 Marghera-Venice, Italy).
The Secretariat develops its activities following the aims of the Association, towards a stronger communication and cooperation between institutions, teachers, researchers, and students in the field in different European countries. Activities include networking, coordination of the Association’s Annual Conferences and Summer and Winter Schools, contribution to the organization of the World Congresses of Environmental and Resource Economists, and management of communication activities, which will be strengthened during Prof. Carraro’s term to reinforce the policy impact of the Association.
