Workshop
12 November 2026, 9.30–11.30 | Venice, CMCC@Cà Foscari, via della Libertà 12

CMCC hosts a delegation from the Safety and Disaster Prevention Division of the National Research Institute of Cultural Heritage (NRICH), under the Korea Heritage Service (formerly Cultural Heritage Administration) of the Republic of Korea.
The workshop will be an opportunity for discussion and knowledge sharing on translating climate-risk knowledge into adaptation practices that could inform the protection of cultural heritage in Korea.
The programme includes a presentation of the CMCC Risk Assessment and Adaptation Strategies (RAAS) Division, followed by presentations of three CMCC projects on cultural heritage: RescueME, which develops a framework to protect European cultural heritage and landscapes from climate change and other pressures; SD-WISHEES, which supports collaboration to protect cultural heritage from hydroclimatic extreme events; and GreenHeritage, which addresses the impact of climate change on intangible cultural heritage. NRICH colleagues will then present their research activities and ongoing projects. The workshop will close with an open discussion on potential synergies and collaboration opportunities.
