The European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage (RCH) is organising an informational webinar ahead of the launch of its 1st Joint Transnational Call (JTC1).

The call involves 28 funding organisations and promotes international collaboration in research and innovation to build a more resilient cultural heritage sector. It is dedicated to collaborative research and innovation projects aimed at strengthening societal resilience through cultural heritage, in Europe and beyond.

Entitled “Foundations for climate-resilient cultural heritage: Assessing and managing impact and risk, dealing with damage and loss”, the call addresses a broad range of challenges across four thematic areas, whose scope derives from the official Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda underpinning the Partnership:

  • Risk and impact assessment and cultural heritage risk preparedness and management
  • Managing the loss and damage of cultural heritage impacted by climate change-induced natural hazards
  • Traditional, local and Indigenous knowledge systems and practices as resources and frameworks for societal resilience in the context of climate change
  • Sustainable governance of the cultural heritage sector

The European Partnership for Resilient Cultural Heritage (RCH) is a European collaboration that brings together 90 partners from 30 countries, dedicated to strengthening the resilience of cultural heritage in the face of climate change and exploring the role that heritage can play in addressing climate change.

As a Partner, the CMCC Foundation acts as a bridge between scientific research and policymakers, strengthening the connection between cultural heritage and climate science and ensuring the transfer of knowledge from science to policy in Europe and the world.
