Carmela ha una laurea magistrale in Architettura (2014) e un Dottorato in Architettura (2018), conseguiti all’Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II. Dal 2018 fa parte della Divisione REMHI dell’Institute for Climate Resilience del CMCC, dove si occupa principalmente di modellazione del microclima urbano, valutazione della vulnerabilità dell’ambiente costruito e strategie di adattamento per città resilienti al clima.
