Giulia Galluccio is the Director of the Advanced Training and Education Center (ATEC) at the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC).

In her role, she oversees the interface between CMCC’s scientific production and climate data, with training and knowledge sharing activities on climate change, aiming to address global challenges by promoting interdisciplinary approaches and skills.

The initiatives led by Giulia as Head of ATEC focus on training the next generation, building CMCC as a global knowledge hub for advanced studies in climate science worldwide, training policy and decision-makers in the public and private sectors on the science-policy interface and climate governance, and strengthening collaboration with partnerships and initiatives in the Global South.

In addition to education and training activities, ATEC’s research, which focuses on issues such as climate law, cultural heritage, as well as sea level rise and coastal resilience, provides strategic scientific production for policy makers and corporate actors to make informed decisions on emerging issues in climate science and governance.

Giulia, who is also Vice-Chair of JPI Climate, is currently one of the leaders of the organizing committee of the 7th European Climate Change Adaptation Conference (ECCA 2025), the premier forum for exchanging practical solutions, sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration on climate change adaptation across Europe, an activity carried out within the MAGICA Project.
