Lucia Gualtieri is a Scientist at the Euro Mediterranean Center on Climate Change (CMCC). Previously, she held positions at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University (NY, USA), Princeton University (NJ, USA), and Stanford University (CA, USA). She earned her PhD in geophysics through a joint degree program between the Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris (France) and the University of Bologna (Italy). She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics from the University of Bologna.
Her research primarily focuses on theory and numerical modeling. Over the years, she has worked on interdisciplinary topics at the interface of Physical Oceanography, Atmospheric Science, and Solid Earth Geophysics. Her current research focuses on studying the circulation and sea state of the Mediterranean Sea through the development and analysis of numerical simulations.
