Paola Nassisi is Director of the Advanced Digital Innovation Center (ADIC) at CMCC, where she leads the strategic evolution of digital infrastructures, advanced computing services, and data-driven innovation supporting Earth System Science.

Since 2012, she has contributed to the ENES community, guiding the development of the ENES Climate Data Infrastructure software stack and playing a key role in IS-ENES activities. She was also a core member of the design and development team of the ESGF Data Statistics Service, contributing to its distributed monitoring architecture; the team received the 2017 ESGF Earth System Grid Federation Team Award.

Since the end of 2023, she has represented the IS-ENES community within the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI) Council and, as of January 2026, she serves as a member of the EGI Executive Board for a three-year term. Through these roles, she contributes to governance and strategic coordination activities within a major European research infrastructure provider, closely connected to the European Open Science Cloud, the Common European Data Spaces, and other key European initiatives. She also contributes to the CMIP7 Data Access Task Team and currently chairs the ENES Data Task Force, supporting the strategic coordination and long-term evolution of ENES data services.

Paola is involved in several projects within the Horizon Europe Research Infrastructures Work Programme and the Digital Europe Programme, particularly in initiatives related to EOSC and the ESiWACE Centre of Excellence. She is further contributing to the development of the ESGF Tier-0 Italian node at CINECA within the ClimateDataIT team established under the national PNRR HPC Big Data initiative, strengthening Italy’s role within the federated ESGF infrastructure.

Her technical expertise, combined with her leadership and representation roles in European contexts, contributes to the development of resilient and innovation-driven digital ecosystems for Earth System Science.
