CMCC Role

 The activities carried out by CMCC researchers focus on the (i) analysis of the future climate; (ii) hydrological risk analysis.

Expected results
  • Climate risk analysis for the whole country;
  • Flood hazard and vulnerability analysis at the country and Paraguay river basin level, with more detailed analysis conducted for the capital city of Asuncion, Upper Paraguay e Nanawa.

Activity

The work plan is structured in 3 tasks, and further subdivided in sub-tasks as specified below:

  • Validation of the climate simulation with respect to the baseline period;
  • Analysis of climate anomalies.

Task 2 Flood hazard and risk analysis:

  • Hazard assessment;
  • Exposure assessment;
  • Vulnerability assessment;
  • Risk assessment.
