General aims
This service will facilitate the climate adaptation pursuits and hence help to sizably reduce the costs of climate change.
CMCC Role
CMCC is the coordinator.
Expected results
- explore the demand side: specify the scope of knowledge products and services needed at regional level;
- knowledge gaps identification: analysis of existing tools and current scale of application;
- vulnerability of specific interested sectors: E.g. agriculture, coastal economy, livelihood of intensely built areas;
- identify current business model: who’s currently providing such service to the regions;
- implement the business model: how can CMCC/CLiMA – or other service providers – roll out such service?
Activity
- Initial screening of climate risks in the regions and selection of the sectors;
- In-depth review of the existing estimates of climate change related costs;
- Filling the gap in the sectorial analysis;
- Macro-economic regional impacts of climate change on pilot regions;
- Market potential analysis and climate costs-related adaptation services;
- Service specification and delivery.
