General aims

This service will facilitate the climate adaptation pursuits and hence help to sizably reduce the costs of climate change.

CMCC is the coordinator.


Expected results
  • explore the demand side: specify the scope of knowledge products and services needed at regional level;
  • knowledge gaps identification: analysis of existing tools and current scale of application;
  • vulnerability of specific interested sectors: E.g. agriculture, coastal economy, livelihood of intensely built areas;
  • identify current business model: who’s currently providing such service to the regions;
  • implement the business model: how can CMCC/CLiMA – or other service providers – roll out such service?

  • Initial screening of climate risks in the regions and selection of the sectors;
  • In-depth review of the existing estimates of climate change related costs;
  • Filling the gap in the sectorial analysis;
  • Macro-economic regional impacts of climate change on pilot regions;
  • Market potential analysis and climate costs-related adaptation services;
  • Service specification and delivery.
