The Mediterranean Forum on the Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change will feature two speakers from the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change: Antonio Navarra, CMCC President, and Paola Mercogliano, CMCC Principal Scientist. Their participation highlights CMCC’s central role in advancing climate resilience across the Mediterranean region.
This one-day hybrid event taking place on 19 June 2025 in Bologna (Italy) will bring together Charter Signatories, regional and local leaders, policymakers, experts, and practitioners to explore best practices in climate adaptation and resilience, with special focus on the Mediterranean area.
The event will highlight multi-level governance as a key driver of climate action in the Mediterranean area, showcasing how Charter Signatories and regional and local authorities address the related climate challenges. Participants will engage in discussions and interactive sessions on critical themes, including:
- Rethinking investment – integrating resilience into planning and securing funding for climate adaptation.
- Citizen engagement – ensuring public participation in climate resilience efforts.
- Climate preparedness – tackling the specific challenges faced by Mediterranean regions.
The Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change supports EU regions, cities and local authorities in their efforts to build resilience against the impacts of climate change.
