The CMCC Foundation will participate in COP30 at the side event organized by WWF “The costs of inaction for citizens, communities and economies”, which will take place at the Padiglione Italia on 17th November.
The event aims to highlight the urgency of the climate crisis and its already significant impact, which is being recognized by analysts and economists. It seeks to integrate into the discussion key aspects of mitigation and adaptation, investment needs, and, at the same time, the benefits for individuals, communities, businesses, and countries.
Paola Mercogliano, CMCC Principal Scientist, will give a keynote speech on the impact of climate change in urban areas.

This event is one of the several CMCC contributions to COP 30, the 30th edition of the Conference of the Parties (COP) organized by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
COP 30 is a major United Nations climate conference that brings together world leaders, non-governmental organizations, and experts to negotiate and advance global actions to address climate change. The conference will focus on implementing international climate agreements and promoting sustainable development through priority actions to tackle the climate crisis.
