On September 25, 2015 the Ca’ Foscari University’s Veneto Night event will host the ICCG – International Center for Climate Governance of the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei – with its “Water Rooms” project, coordinated by UNESCO’s World Water Assessment Program (WWAP). The project is being carried out in collaboration with the Environment Ministry and the participation of key partners such as Unilever and Edison.
Water Rooms comprises five animated short film subjects (produced by reputable Studies and Authors, both Italian and international, such as Studio Bozzetto, the Armando Testa Group and Steve Cutts) and five monologues (written by authors such as Tony Allan, Marco Paolini, Vandana Shiva), recited live. The imaginary itinerary of Rooms revolves around the motto “discover, understand and change”, starting with a fundamental understanding of the hydrological cycle and going on to explore the water-energy-food-environment nexus and the principles of good governance, and to address timely ethical issues such as conflicts over water.
Theatre and film thus become an original and stimulating way to approach the management of water resources in the context of sustainable development within a broader reflection on the concept of water security for mankind and the environment.
The guest of honor will be Marco Paolini, who will recite his monologue.
