Camilla holds a PhD in Marine Biology from the University of Hong Kong, an MSc in Applied Marine Science from Plymouth University and a BSc in Biological Sciences from The University of Milan.

She has previous research experience in stress ecology, physiological responses of marine invertebrates to anthropogenic climate change-related stressors and bivalve aquaculture. She was, for example, responsible at Cambridge University of an EIT-Food project testing cost-efficient hatchery diets for the sustainable aquaculture production of mussels.

Before joining CMCC, she was a Postdoctoral Associate in MARE-Madeira, involved in several projects concerning NIS, marine diseases and physiological responses of invertebrates to heat stress (e.g. MHWs).

Since February 2024, she works at CMCC as Junior Project Manager, supporting scientists of the GOCO Division in the daily implementation of EU, national and regional funded projects.
