Oliver Carlo is a Mechanical Engineer with an MSc in Urban Sustainability and a PhD in Urban Micrometeorology. He joined the REMHI division at CMCC as a Junior Scientist in January 2026.
He applies his PhD expertise in CFD modelling of pollutant transport to high-resolution weather and climate modelling at local and regional scales, working with the Icosahedral Nonhydrostatic Weather and Climate (ICON) model with a focus on pollutant and aerosol tracer modelling.
His prior experience includes sustainability consulting for green buildings and research on energy-efficient behavioural practices in the urban sector, reflecting a strong interest in translating climate and earth science research into practical, actionable solutions.
