Gabriele Maruccia graduated in law, with highest honors, from the University of Roma Tre, with a thesis in criminal-tax law. His supervisor was Professor Giuseppe Tinelli, with whom he collaborates at the same University.
He ranked first in the selection of candidates for admission to the XXXIII Cycle for “Doctor of Research in Public Law Disciplines” at the same University, with the award of a scholarship, which he waived in favor of the already existing employment relationship.
As a corporate lawyer, he worked from 2016 to 2019 at the Agenzia Nazionale per l’Attrazione degli Investimenti e lo Sviluppo d’Impresa – Invitalia S.p.A., reporting directly to the Head of the Contracts and Litigation. He then moved to Leonardo S.p.a. (formerly Finmeccanica) reporting directly to the Head of the Criminal Law, Ethics & Integrity and Anticorruption.
He is among the lecturers in the Master’s Degree in Environmental Law, activated at La Sapienza University of Rome and coordinated by Professor Angelo Lalli.
In February 2019, his volume on “La fiscalità dei beni confiscati alla criminalità organizzata” was awarded the “G. Falcone and P. Borsellino International Legal-Scientific Prize”, whose award ceremony was held at the Camera dei Deputati.
Since December 2022, he is in charge of Compliance at the CMCC Foundation, reporting directly to the Head of Legal & Compliance.
