Francesco holds a PhD in Environmental Research from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Global Change Ecology from the University of Trieste. His academic work focused on hydrology, ecosystem dynamics, and nature-based solutions for climate resilience.
Following his PhD, he joined the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust in London, where he coordinated and delivered hydrological and ecological research on two national projects within the Flood and Coastal Innovation Programme funded by the UK Department for
Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).
At CMCC, Francesco serves as Research Coordinator at the Institute for Earth System Predictions (IESP), supporting the Director in implementing the Institute’s research strategy and coordinating interdisciplinary research working groups.
