Margherita Sarcinella is a researcher specializing in hydrology, remote sensing, and geospatial modeling applied to disaster risk reduction. She holds an MSc in Geohazards & Earth Observation from Utrecht University and an II level Research Master in Science & Management of Climate Change from Ca’ Foscari University of Venice. Over the past 7 years, she has focused on advanced remote sensing, hydrological modeling, and hazard mapping for risk-informed decision-making. Her international experience includes fieldwork in Jordan with ICARDA and volunteering with the Red Cross in the Netherlands following an initial collaboration on using high-resolution satellite soil moisture data for flood prediction and early warning. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD at Ca’ Foscari in collaboration with CMCC, mapping hazards and impacts to favor a more effective disaster preparedness.
