Sergio Scanu holds a PhD in Ecology and Management of Biological Resources from Tuscia University (2010). His research activity is focused on two main areas: the study of the sedimentology of the continental shelf and the study of the pollution of coastal marine environments with particular reference to the accumulation processes of persistent substances, heavy metals, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons both in sediments and in biota. Since 2019 he has collaborated with CMCC – Ocean Prediction and Application Division, participating in several project and research programs.
