Vitali Sharmar has been studying and working in the field of Physical Oceanography for the last 10 years, more specifically with ocean wave physics, using multiplatform observations and modelling.
He combines research experience from universities with technical background from the industry sector as well as being part of international groups. His knowledge of numerical wave modeling and observations (buoys and radars) are essential components for the development of global high-resolution ensemble of wave and storm surge projections to accurately assess coastal hazards, especially in terms of extreme events and their local consequences.– his main research interest.
