Francesca Vittorioso is a Physicist specialized in Atmospheric Physics and Meteorology, holding a PhD in Ocean, Atmosphere and Climate Sciences from Université Toulouse III – Paul Sabatier. Between 2016 and 2024, she worked at Météo-France and CNRS, where she specialized in the use of hyperspectral infrared satellite observations and data assimilation for numerical weather prediction and atmospheric composition modelling. Following a postdoctoral research period at the University of Bologna on data assimilation for sea ice modelling, she joined Agenzia ItaliaMeteo, contributing to the development of satellite data assimilation in the ICON-2I numerical weather prediction model. She currently works in the REMHI division, where she continues her research on satellite data assimilation. Her expertise includes satellite remote sensing, data assimilation, numerical weather prediction, atmospheric chemistry, radiative transfer, and the exploitation of Earth observation data for meteorological application
