Activities

Strengthening the ERA” improving the coordination/alignment of public research programmes at European, country, transnational and EU level in the field of climate change science, with the aim to reap the potential of collective climate research investments within the ERA in addressing the causes and consequences of climate change and informing social and economic transitions and transformations that those entail.

“Realizing the ERA”, this activity  aims to contribute to the effective realization of the ERA by establishing a “single market” for such a climate science base for research policy through:

  • Developing a Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for a number of central research topics of high political relevance for climate action in Europe;
  • Drawing an actionable implementation framework for sharing information, data and best practices, improving access to data and infrastructure and the mobility of researchers across Europe as well as implement joint research initiatives to trigger synergies.
  • Interacting with communities of climate science researchers and stakeholders across Europe to deliver on the SRIA

“Science-Policy-Society Dialogue”,  the main objective of this activity is to accelerate and enhance the reach of the exchange of knowledge between science and innovation with policy and society, including practitioners in private and public sectors.

“Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation”, this activity aims to provide internal and external communications, outreach and dissemination expertise and innovative targeted strategies to MAGICA.

Expected results

MAGICA’s objective is to accelerate the development, provision and exchange of knowledge from research and innovation to inform and support policy-making and climate actions via a better coordination of on-going and future initiatives and a more efficient use of resources.
