Research Unit Leader
Description
This unit analyses the multiple ways through which environment may be impacted as a result of exposure and vulnerability to one or more environmental stressors such as chemicals, land change, disease, invasive species and climate change. The subunit Ecological and human health risk and impact assessment, led by Dr. Silvia Torresan, evaluates methods and tools available to assess multi-hazard risk posed or amplified by climate variability and change. The subunit Environmental fate and transport of chemicals, led by Dr. Andrea Critto, assesses how climate change influence environmental fate and transport of chemicals and analyses the related ecological and human risks. The subunit Decision support systems and ICT tools, led by Alex Zabeo, is engaged in developing state-of-the-art decision support systems (DSS), and information and communication tools (ICT) set to assist decision making by improved access to, and analysis of, information on environment and society.
