From Edward Burtynsky’s largest anthology exhibition at M9 in Venice, CMCC presents three episodes documenting the transition to the future through energy, inequality, land and resource use, and urban adaptation.

It all started in the rooms of M9, the Museo del Novecento in Mestre, Italy. All around, large prints of Edward Burtynsky’s photographs made up the Canadian photographer’s largest anthological exhibition. As these seemingly abstract forms morphed before our eyes into a detailed depiction of the human footprint on the planet, we wondered what sustainable transformation looks like, how we transform our industrial systems and our need for well-being in a sustainable, durable and distributed way.

On Earth Day, celebrated on April 22, we sought to answer these questions by discussing with scientists and experts on the issues central to imagining, shaping, and realizing the world of the coming decades.

“Trasformazioni” is a series on the future of the changing planet, with three episodes moderated by Cristina Nadotti and with Enrica De Cian, Antonella Mazzone, Maria Vincenza Chiriacò, Daniele Brombal, Paola Mercogliano, Maria Chiara Pastore.

The episodes are available (in Italian) on CMCC’s Youtube Channel, and in audio format on Spotify, Apple Podcast, Amazon Music, and all major podcast platforms.
