Elena Matta is the TCT Division Manager at the CMCC Foundation. She previously worked as a project manager and senior researcher at Politecnico di Milano and SoftWater, an innovative SME based in Milan. She earned her PhD in Water Resources Management and Modelling at Technische Universität Berlin and subsequently served as Coordinator of the Water Engineering Master’s Programme at TU Berlin Campus El Gouna in Egypt.

Elena has a strong interdisciplinary background in water resources management, with expertise in hydrodynamic and hydrological modelling, climate data analysis, and machine learning applications. Her research has focused on the impacts of climate change on complex water systems, supporting adaptation planning through scenario analysis, climate indicators, and data-driven tools.

She has developed solid experience in the coordination and implementation of national and international research and innovation projects, with active roles in project design, stakeholder engagement, and science-policy communication. Elena is highly motivated to tackle technological, climate, and environmental challenges, and is committed to advancing the growth of the TCT Division by leveraging her analytical, strategic, and management skills in collaborative, impact-driven initiatives.
