Beth is a PhD student on the program “Future Earth, Climate Change, and Societal Challenge” with the University of Bologna starting in November 2020, under the supervision of Emanuela Clementi. Her research regards the vertical impacts of tides, and parameterisations of wave-induced vertical mixing in the Mediterranean Sea. This is investigated using a coupled ocean-wave model system with NEMO and WaveWatchIII.

Before arriving in Bologna, she completed a master’s degree in Atmosphere Ocean and Climate at the University of Reading, United Kingdom, and achieved a distinction for the course. During her time there, she studied numerical modelling of the atmosphere and ocean, tropical and extra-tropical meteorology, and climate change. She wrote her dissertation on the future of the global monsoon in the CMIP6 model experiments.
