Mario Leonardo Salinas holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science, with a specialization in Data Science and Technologies, from the University of Pisa, awarded with honors.

Since 2021, he has been a Research Associate at CMCC, focusing on numerical modeling and environmental data analysis. His work focuses on the development and application of the VISIR-2 ship weather routing model for maritime CO₂ emissions assessment, alongside advanced statistical analysis of maritime and environmental datasets. He contributed to several EU-funded projects (GUTTA, EDITO-ModelLab, MISSION) and is actively involved in scientific dissemination and publication efforts.
